Correspondence includes that of Joseph Hasbrouck with Simon Draper, Ira Harris, Jeremiah Rufsin, William Marcy, and others regarding political cases involving Hasbrouck and the New York Custom House, 1829-1866; and letters recommending Hasbrouck for political positions, 1845-1864. Ledgers include list of male residents of Tuthill, Town of New Paltz, 1836, survey of dwellings, 1850, stock register of horses and cattle, 1845, general accounts, 1832, and grist mill accounts, 1850-1851; other financial records include receipts and accounts. Miscellaneous items include notes for speeches or legal cases, papers from legal suits, breeding record of the horse "True Republican," and deeds, 1824-1884. Collection also includes correspondence of Gilbert O. Fowler with N. Jones, Gov. Marcy, and H. Lockwood, 1837-1848; letter to Lucas Elemendorf from H. Wadock, 1806; and letter to Willey Linderman from Charles Hathaway, 1939.
